Tuesday November 2

This cold is getting the best of me. I was too worn out to hunt yesterday and today I should have stayed home.  I gave it one last shot down near my stand on the oak flat. Unfortunately two coughing attacks probably kept me from seeing anything. One of the coughing spells lasted a full 20 minutes. I hope that it passes before I start hunting in Ohio on Friday evening.

My New York hunting is just about done. I will only be able to hunt for a handful of days before the season closes. It’s scary how fast it goes once it gets here.

I saw a big doe on the way home tonight. Right before I headed home I chatted with my buddy Doug for a few minutes. He didn’t see anything tonight either. I’m not sure much of anything was moving. Right before I left I told him I couldn’t believe I haven’t seen any deer on the road and then I saw the big doe right before getting to a big pond on the right side of the road.

I won’t be back to this journal until I return home and I’m not sure how I’ll update it at that point. I’ll keep a journal when I’m gone so I might just transfer the data. I’m still unsure. Until then hunt hard and hunt safe. Good luck to all of you.

Tomorrow is November 3. Dad killed The Fighter and I killed The Grunter on that day and both deer were following does. It might be a good day to be in the woods.
