After filling my tag, I decided to tag along with Brad today and film his hunt. The forecast called for a clear morning. Unfortunately, a heavy fog hung over the pond when we got up.

When we docked the boat down near the honey hole, we couldn’t see across the canyon. About 45 minutes later a gust of wind blew it out and Jason headed to the high ground to spot for moose.

After spotting one, Hector, Brad and I were on the move. We covered a lot of ground in a hurry. When we reached the bog near Charlie’s hole, Hector spotted the bull at the top of the drainage. It was a nice one. Brad got three shots at it, but the shots were rushed and none of them connected.

Shortly after the miss we spotted a nice bull across the ravine and went after it. It was 880 yards away, but it took us almost two hours to get to the area.

After the long and grueling stalk, the bull outsmarted us and disappeared into the timber, so we headed to North Lake. Jason had a good feeling about the area.

Hector and Brad chased a bull around while Jason and I spotted for them from the lake. They closed the gap quickly, but the bull winded them and escaped unharmed.

After getting back in the boat, we went after another one on the other side of the lake. We made quick work of it and Brad made up for the missed opportunity he had earlier in the day. It was a phenomenal day with some fantastic people. This hunt was truly a once-in-a-lifetime hunt. My dad is the greatest dad in the world. He has allowed me to do more than I ever could have imagined doing on my own. Thanks dad. I love you more than you will ever know.
