Although it wasn’t in the 70s today, it was still in the mid 60s. This summer weather pattern doesn’t want to let up. Tomorrow is the opening day of Northern Zone muzzleloader season in New York.

I’m still undecided if I’m going to hunt with a bow or a gun. I’ll have to see what the morning brings. After going out tonight, my confidence level is waning. The last two night have been goo nights for deer to move, but I didn’t see anything.

Although I didn’t see any deer while hunting, I did see two does on the road on my way to hunt, and I saw one doe on the way home. All of them were adult deer. It just doesn’t appear that deer are moving too much in the big woods.

I’ll continue covering a lot of ground to find where they’re hiding out. I haven’t found where they’re feeding, but I feel fairly certain that I’ll figure it out by the end of next week. I’m going to head into a few new areas in the coming days to see what I can find.

Doug moved a stand tonight. He’s going to sit in it tomorrow morning. Dad called from Utah tonight. It looks like he’s going to win another gold medal at the Huntsman World Senior Games. He’s due home tomorrow night. When he gets home, he’ll start organizing his hunting gear so he can get out a few times before we head to the Midwest.

Tomorrow I might sit in the area where I got this picture a few years ago.
